The Johnny Paycheck tribute album TOUCH MY HEART, produced by Robbie Fulks, really belongs on this list, in place of the terrible GEORGE STRAIT 50 NUMBER ONES with its truncated and shortened versions of many of the earlier Strait hits.

TOUCH MY HEART features a mix of alt-rock artists such as Neko Case, Fulks, Jim Lauderdale, Dave Alvin, Al Anderson and Hank III with tradional country artists such as Dallas Wayne, George Jones, Buck Owens and Bobby Bare. Neko Case's take on "If I'm gonna Sink (I Might As Well Go To The Bottom)" , Al Anderson on "Someone To Give My Love To" and Dallas Wayne on " I Did The Right Thing" are particularly otstanding. Lloyd Green is on steel so there is a real air of authenticity throughout
