They are GREAT and have GREAT music! I just went to their concert on Aug. 18th and it was a blast. In my opinion all of their songs on their last CD were good. You can’t say that for a lot of artists. I have a lot of friends that have the same opinion. I say keep the great tunes coming guys!

I have a great idea. It’s fantastic! I’m gonna start a new awards show. It’ll be called the CMARA’s (Country Music Alternate Reality Awards). There will be about six catagories, and the first and foremost eligilibility requirements will be that you must be either Rascal Flatts or Toby Keith. And if you’re either of these, you’re automatically nominated in all catagories. Keith and the Flatts boys are to be the official, and only voters. Keith gets three votes, and each Racal gets one. That should assure that they tie, and co-win, each and every award, likely to include Female Vocalist of the Year, a great milestone for both. We can fill an arena with groupies for both Keith and Rascal Flatts, who will no doubt show up in droves when offered free tickets.

In the end, it should accomplish the greater goal… both Keith and LeVox will finally be happy. And both will stop bitching. And still, nobody will care.

But they do put out satisfying records. I wouldn’t say they are innovators or that they’re changing music or really doing anything important musically, but they’re still a force to be reckoned with. Kinda like country’s version of Def Leppard.

He’s not saying that Rascal Flatts get airplay because the Chicks don’t – they co-existed on the radio for a couple of years. He’s saying that the only reason they’ve won any awards at all is because of the Chicks no longer having support in the country industry. I don’t know if I fully agree with that, because it’s hard to say whether the Chicks would’ve released another album quickly after “Home”, but I do think the Chicks would’ve won Vocal Group in 2003, at the very least, since they were surprise winners in 2002, and “Home” wasn’t even released during that eligibility period.

As far as awards for album sales go, they’re given out at the Billboard awards, which honors the top-selling and most-played music of the year. Rascal Flatts didn’t win that in 2006 because they were outsold by Carrie Underwood, who had the top-selling album of all genres.

I love their music, i have all of their cds qand i am going to be getting their new cd on september 25 and io know i will love it. I hope that they will finally get the credit they deserve at the award shows. Also just because the Dixie Chicks have been banned from the radio does not mean that Rascal Flatts get more air tiume. I truly think they do not get enough air time. It is not Raascal Flatts fault that they got banned from the radio. I will stick up for my boys and show some love to them.

How many more years do we have to deal with this? Their star has to burn out soon enough….they’ve just been lucky that the Dixie Chicks got banned from radio so they could start winning the group award at the country awards shows.
