It’s only when you actually pay attention to the structure of the song that you realize what a miracle it is. The song itself has only one verse, all the rest is the chorus repeated over and over and over again — heck, the song even opens with the chorus! But damn if it doesn’t work, and a lot of the credit for that is due to Pruett’s keening, sincere vocal.
