I like Carlene. She does very good music. She’s really tallented person and she looks like her mother June. I love her songs Stronger, Me and the Wildwood Rose, Come on Back, I fell in love, I love you cause I want to, Every little thing and Easy from now on and many others. I love Carter family and June Carter Cash and Johnny Cash’s music, too.

I really like her. I bought about 3-4 tracks from her latest album a while back and I like them. She’s still got a great voice.

I still really enjoy listening to the “I Fell In Love” CD on occasion and Albert Lee’s guitar licks on that album still make my jaw drop every time. As for Carlene’s essential singles I’d toss in her duet with Southern Pacific on the delightful song “Time’s Up”. Carlene’s sassy vocal attitude on that song elevate it to a higher plane…..

Carlene Carter made some very interesting albums over the span of a few years. Of course with her parentage consisting of a member of the Carter Family and a father who was one of the three or four biggest stars of the 1950s, you’d expect no less. Even so I think she is ranked way too highly here. She belongs behind Suzy Bogguss, Gail Davies and a bunch of others who have already shown up on this list – mid 80s would be high enough

On a whim, a couple of months ago, I bought all of Carter’r's country albums. While I don’t necessarily like everything on them, I certainly don’t regret the impulsive purchases. I haven’t liked the production on all of the albums and I thought her vocals were too reserved on Stronger.

On another note, one of my favorite songs by Johnny and June is the one that Carlene wrote, “It Takes One To Know Me.” I think it’s sweet that she wrote such a fitting tribute to them for them to sing. And of course, I love that she wrote “Easy From Now On.” Those two songs alone make me respect her songwriting, though I know she’s written many other good songs.
