I was just listening to Patsy sing “The Yodeling Ghost” a few minutes ago.

Another of Patsy’s songs I really like is “Big, Big, Heartbreak.

Ah, those by gone days… Such great music…

I grew up with “I Want To Be a Cowboy’s Sweetheart.”
Tried my best at yodeling. My family listened to the WLS Barn Dance every Saturday night. This song brings back a lot of memories.

Sorry but Pastsy Montana belongs in the top 10. She was the first female to sell a million copys with the single “I Wanna be a cowboys sweetheart during the depression.

In 1997, Rounder released a recording Patsy had made shortly before her death. Titled THE COWBOY’S SWEETHEART, it found her in good voice and still capable of executing a yodel . It’s an album well worth obtaining with a good folk/bluegrass band accompanying her . I have her quite a bit higher on my revised top 100 (somehow I completely overlooked Skeeter Davis)
