I feel that you have to have lived the song in order to sing really sing it good. Most of Dottie’s songs fit my life. I’ll always love her music.

Her RCA albums contain many gems and many of her earlier singles , such as “Reno”, “Paper Mansions” and “Would You Hold It Against Me” should be regarded as essential.

Her United Artists output was rather contrived, although the various Kenny Rogers duets were (mostly) worthwhile. Unfortunately, little of her RCA material (or Starday material) is available .
