We seen Don at Vince Gills “Jammin to beat the Blues” concert in Nashville and was so impressed with his lively performance, I had to come home and look him up on the internet!! He was a fantastic “entertainer” as well as a great songwriter that I was honestly unaware of until this concert.

I’ve already made a playlist of Darrell Scott songs sung by other artists. I guess it’s time for me to do the same with Don Schlitz.

JR, I can’t believe I’m only the second to comment on this!:)

I can’t say how much I love Don Schlitz! I love his collaborations with Paul Overstreet for one. Then again, I think “He Thinks He’ll Keep Her” might be right toward the top of my favorite Schlitz penned songs. Oh, and that Judds song is my favorite song of theirs, not to mention one of my favorite Alabama songs being one of his compositions. I could go on and on, really.

I am a big fan of every song mentioned in the Don Schlitz catalog above, some more than others, but those are only a snippet of the great album cuts and other singles he’s written or co-written over the years ..
