I think Brad should win and will win, but like a few other commenters, I feel he’s a couple years overdue for Entertainer.

Is George more likely to spring an upset win over Brad than Alan? Maybe I’m biased due to Alan being more active in the media, but I feel like Alan’s reassertion of himself on country radio might leave a mark in the minds of CMA voters, whereas it feels a bit like more of the same with George. That said, I agree that Brad Paisley is the favorite to win in this category. Until the CMA voters see fit to recognize him as Entertainer of the Year, I don’t mind seeing Brad get recognized as Male Vocalist of the Year.

Brooks was (is? will be?) a better vocalist than is usually reported, but it’s completely overshadowed by his live act and assorted other aspects of his career. Chesney is a “diminished returns” act in this same mold, and I’d imagine he’ll never win this trophy. I’m curious when his reign as Entertainer will end.

Paisley’s my pick, but the other three are stronger vocally IMO.

In my opinion, Chesney is one of the weaker vocalists we have in country music. I’m content with him never winning this award…but he still has three entertainer trophies to his credit. So in a way, it probably evens out! haha

But I’m hoping Brad wins again this year, I’m surprised he hasn’t won it more times.

Garth never won this race, either. I think that for many, Kenny’s performing style is a direct descendant of Garth’s.

I always wonder if and when Chesney will ever win in this category, though I guess the CMA feels like he gets his due in the Entertainer category (and I agree with them).
