Thank you once again Leeann for a very interesting list and well written capsule reviews. Some of your choices sadden me (you made my day with that line by the way, lol) and some omissions too, but I rejoice in many of your choices as well.

I never cared for Jason Michael Carroll either, until I saw him open for Sara Evans in Albany.. it was an all acoustic set, (his equipment truck got waylaid…) But he pulled it off, with just the strength of his golden voice, a couple of talented sidekicks, and some really good material. He won me over!

I love the love you have for Joey+Rory, and their single Cheater Cheater…I too am amazed they came from a reality show, makes me regret that I let it pass and didn’t tune in.

Which brings me to Nashville Star’s princess…Miranda Lambert. It’s great to see her score so well on your list with her ballad…I too really like that softer side of Miranda and LOVE her Crazy-Ex album. And the single “More Like Her”…there’s more where that came from for sure!

Great post, Leeann. Obviously our lists differ quite a bit, but I do like most of the songs you listed, and your write-ups do a great job of breaking down why these particular songs appeal to you.

And by the way…is anyone else super excited to see that “More Like Her” has climbed as high as #24 (even if it has taken a full 18 weeks)? I’m not that song’s biggest fan, but I like it well enough and the fact that something so un-radio-friendly has been able to get that far tells me that country radio is either a) embracing Miranda Lambert a bit more after “Gunpowder & Lead” or b) taking a few more chances. Either way, it’s pretty good news.

Really solid list on the whole, though I’ll confess to being a bit baffled by all the “Rocks in Your Shoes” love around here lately. Personally, that song didn’t do much for me.

Now that I think about it, I haven’t really heard Keith’s re-recorded version of “You Look Good In My Shirt” because I don’t listen to the radio, so all I have heard is the original version…
