Just learned about this on 9513. I’m really sad about this. Recently I performed a sort of re-discovery of Seals (one of my favorite artists as a kid)and found him still to be an incredibly relevant artist. Dig deeper than “Bop” and “Meet Me in Montana” and you’ll find an excellent artist.

I loved Dan, his old pop stuff and his country tunes. “Addicted” is one of my all-time favorite songs. He didn’t write that one (Cheryl Wheeler did) but I don’t believe anyone could have sung it better. He will be missed.

On behalf of the family, thank you all y’all for your well wishes and condolences. Your stories and memories really show how my Uncle Danny touched so many people. It would have filled him up to see the quantity of people that his music touched.

We will all miss him terribly.

I grew up listening to two of Dan’s records… I remember being a little girl and my dad trusting me with his l.p.’s I would listen to them for hours on cold winter days and rainy days when my sisters and I had nothing to do… We knew all the words to all the songs and one of our favorites was ‘Bop’… It’s so sad to think he’s gone… A talented man! My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, a man taken too young….

This was sad news. I was a fan of England Dan and John Ford Coley, and even more of a fan of his solo work. Dan Seals had a sweet, soothing tone to his voice. He was a true storyteller. “Everything That Glitters” still gives me goosebumps when I hear it – but, for me, the song that I will always associate with Dan Seals is “Love is The Answer”. He will be missed, however – he will live on in the beautiful music that he shared with us. Gone too soon – for sure.

Sad to hear of Dan’s passing. I’ve always liked his voice and many of his songs. “everything that Glitters”, “One Friend”, “Bop”, “Meet Me in Montana”, “You Still Move Me”, “I’d Really Love to See You Tonight” are among my favorites of his. Too soon indeed.

Another one gone too soon. His England Dan/John Ford Coley material still gets a significant amount of airplay on 70s oldies and adult contemporary radio stations out here in L.A., including “Nights Are Forever” and “Love Is The Answer.” He definitely had a very good career, maybe not a spectacular one, but a good one (IMHO).
