That "somebody" Eric Church is a "nobody" as evident by his album sales, or lack thereof in this case. Even according to a country fan site that uses opinions instead of fact like this site does, if the numbers were accurate Church's sale numbers would be a LOT lower. He's been around for three years and still can't get a hit, nor sell any albums, so that's hardly an "up-and-comer." Most of you uninformed peeps think that Rodney Atkins was an up-and-comer with "Watching You," nevermind that he was around for nearly 15 years before that. Without a doubt, you have no taste which is rather obvious considering that Church sounds like every other mediocre-at-best male country artist around. If no one is going to buy the guy's albums, and they aren't according to the numbers, why the hell would they waste more money to see him live?! I can tell that you have a lot of common sense. lol.

Until they actually give PROOF of where these numbers come from, don't
believe them considering that most of them are wrong.

Razor X posted that "Yes, the boom days are over. This might not be a bad thing because sooner or later it’s bound to force somebody to be creative and do something different and help get mainstream country out of the creative rut it’s been in for the past few years." Well that "SOMEBODY" is on the 2009 list in the ninth spot and he is Eric Church. Without a doubt the finest up and coming singer/songwriter out there today and his live shows are incredible. Definitely check him out live if you have the opportunity and do yourself a favor and purchase "Carolina" with the bonus tracks from Best Buy.

Thanks for providing this, Kevin - I have always been a watcher of album sales. I am shocked at the low numbers...Glad to see Dolly can still move the product, even if radio is through with her...

Are these total sold since release date, or just for the year?

I was glad to see Dierks in the top 4 for 2009, but surprised he has not sold more than Jason Aldean. Even more surprised at only 189,000.

Also happy to see DB's Greatest Hits on the list of "still charting" (I'm an executive producer), although again...244K sounds really low.

These are actual figures sold.

FYI, Faith Hill's Christmas album had scanned 478,000 as of early January.
