Hear Mindy Smith’s New Album

Singer-songwriter Mindy Smith’s latest offering, Stupid Love, is streaming online at Paste Magazine‘s website. It sounds like a poppier effort than her previous two albums, but reviews are strong, and Smith is a great talent. Check it out!

It’s definitely different than what I’m used to hearing from her. I haven’t decided what I think yet though.
I know that she records “If I Didn’t Know Any Better”, which was previously recorded by Alison. Unfortunately for Mindy, it’s my favorite AKUS song, so there just isn’t any way that she could top it in my book.

Mindy also wrote “If I Didn’t Know Any Better.” I love Mindy’s voice, but I wouldn’t complain if Alison Krauss decided to record a bunch more of her songs.

Oh. I forgot that Mindy wrote “If I Didn’t Know Any Better.” I love Jerry Douglas’ dobro on the AKUS version, not to mention Alison’s haunting vocals.
