Unfortunately CMT has come to represent a lot of the slick, over-production of country music in recent years and it is nice to see that one of their torch bearers has a strong grasp on the genre, even if it doesn’t show in the programming.

She’s exactly right about the necessity the ratings aspect, but I find it hard to believe that re-runs of Nanny 911 really boost ratings more than increased diversity in music video selection would. When it all boils down to it, like MTV, its a entertainment channel, not a music channel.
