This is random, but the word “cornpone” always makes me think of that off-color line in the movie Hannibal.

Not a big fan of this song either, though I do like it a little more than McGraw’s two previous singles.

There really is an endearing earnestness to it. If the man hadn’t gone on to record “Please Remember Me” and the like, I might have a bit more affection for its value as a mid-nineties novelty.
