I didn't know that Suzy Bogguss had a new record out - now I'm excited to go buy it! I agree with alot of these on the list, but Miranda's new record wouldn't have made my top 20. I think it's almost unlistenable and the songs alternate between being overly simplistic and sickeningly pretentious (i.e. "All Kinds of Kinds). I was a huge Miranda fan, but this misstep has made me seriously reconsider my fandom.

Curiosity got the best of me so I also checked out Hayes Carll. I wondered what the hell is KMAG YOYO. For any other readers like me, unfamiliar with his music, it's "Kiss My Ass Guys, You're On Your Own" - interesting anti-war song. Wonder how he can remember all those lyrics. Guess it won't ever be heard on the radio.

I bought the Matraca Berg album but I have to admit that her rendition of the title track doesn't come close to Trisha Yearwood's.

Lori McKenna's "The Luxury of Knowing" for me was the best track on Keith Urban's so-so "Get Closer" album.

Overall, yours was a very interesting top 20.

My top 5: Suzy B, Watson-Vincent, Sunny S, Ronnie Dunn and Terri Clark.

Outstanding list of some fantastic country albums. Can't go wrong with any of them.

While I pretty much guessed what would make your top 10, I didn't expect to see Lori McKenna rank at all and for me that was the most pleasant surprise. Lorraine was the most authentic view of human experience I heard all year. An outstanding album from start to finish.

My only personal complaint is not putting American Folk Songbook in my top 10 over at MKoC. When I was assembling my list I must've had a brain freeze or something because that should've made it. I would've had it in there ahead of Sunny Sweeney (who would've made my top 20).

Also, I like how you all added in the individual rankings for each album, it's cool to see where these albums placed on each of your lists.

I now have to check out the Hayes Carll album which I just downloaded. I've heard and read a lot about him over the past few years but haven't given much time to his music. That's about to change.

On the whole I liked the 11-20 albums more than I liked this group (my #s 1,2 & 4 were to be found there) - the only one of these I haven't heard is Civil Wars album. I think the George Strit album was his best album in a while

I didn't post a best of list this year (I did do a best reissues of 2011 list) but here was my take

1. Watson & Vincent - YOUR MONEY & MY GOOD LOOKS
2. Connie Smith - LONG LINE OF HEARTACHES
3. Amber Digby - LIVE AT SWISS ALP DANCE HALL
4. Suzy Bogguss - AMERICAN FOLK SONGBOOK
5. Merle Haggard- WORKING IN TENNESSEE (my brother got it for me in vinyl format)

6. Vince Gill - GUITAR SLINGER
7. Tracy Lawrence - THE SINGER
8. Johnny Bush - WHO’LL BUY MY MEMORIES
9. George Strait - HERE FOR A GOOD TIME
10. Lee Ann Rimes - LADY & GENTLEMMEN

Honorable mention:

Laura Cantrell- KITTY WELLS DRESSES
Pistol Annies - HELL ON HEELS
Ashton Shepard - WHERE COUNTRY GROWS
Miranda Lambert - FOUR THE RECORD
