Carrie has never gotten a Country Album nomination at the Grammys. It’s kinda weird, especially since she has won 5 times.

I was shocked too that “Blown Away” didn’t get an album nod and kinda surprised that Hunter Hayes did but then again, I have not heard his album.

Wow at “Blown Away” not getting an album nod.

And Carrie’s the only female in both Song and Country Solo Vocal. That speaks volumes for the genre’s sake, and not necessarily in a good way. However, it speaks volumes for Carrie, and definitely in an incredible way.

Looking at this list, all I’m thinking is why do the Grammys have better recognition of country music talent than actual country award shows? (Lookin’ at you, CMAs and ACMs.) “Cost of Living,” “So You Don’t Have to Love Me Anymore,” AND “I Just Come Here for the Music?” There’s more award-worthy nominations here than in an entire year’s worth of country award shows!

Happy for the “So You Don’t Have to Love Me Anymore” and “Cost of Livin’” nods, and of course, for “Blown Away”, which should win easily.

I agree. “Cost of Livin’” deserves some serious accolades for its poignant look at life as it is. Dunn’s voice, as always, is brilliant.

But, I’m so happy to see Jack White’s Blunderbuss. White is a musical genius in nearly every area of the field and should be recognized for this incredible work of art.

Still love “Cost of Livin’” and hope it wins a nomination. I saw Philip Coleman perform the song as he originally wrote it at the Bluebird Cafe about a month ago. Ronnie Dunn re-wrote the chorus and hook. I can’t recall Coleman’s original lyrics now but at the time I thought that Dunn’s changes were an improvement.

I also like ZBB wherever nominated and “I Just Come Here for the Music” by Don Willians with Alison Krauss.
