Country Music Hall of Famer John Anderson has died at the age of 71.
The Tennessean reports:
Anderson was born on Dec. 13, 1954, in Orlando, Florida. With a rich, smooth baritone voice, his career began in the late 1970s and gained momentum in the early ’80s, leading to 40 charting country singles and influential hits like 1983’s “Swingin’,” 1991’s “Seminole Wind” and 1992’s “Straight Tequila Night.”
Anderson was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2014 and the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2024.
Anderson was a once in a generation stylist who was identifiable from the first note he sang on any record.
What a tremendous loss. We join his family, friends, and fans in mourning.
