Abbondanza is likely an unfamiliar name in the country ranks, but he first achieved success as a member of the Pennsylvania-based band Povertyneck Hillbillies. With the group taking an indefinite break, Abbondanza attempts to go it alone, and his first single is a tale of youth and innocence and an appreciation of the past.
Unfortunately, the melody is far from engaging, the lyric is far from original and the vocals just don‘t seem very strong. This sounds like a Kenny Chesney knockoff, with the usual mentions of football games, underage drinking and fast driving as a reflection of youth. Abbondanza has written a few decent songs, both solo and with the Hillbillies, but this is a weak introduction to his solo career.
