Single Review: Billy Currington, “Pretty Good at Drinkin’ Beer”

The song title combined with Billy Currington’s recent track record had me ready to hate this one.  But he’s rediscovered his “Good Directions” groove here, and he makes the qualities of a reprehensible person sound downright appealing.

As far as drinking songs go, this one matches the pace of the kind of drinking he’s talking about. Not everything needs to be a rave-up. Frankly, I”m sick of rave-ups.

Maybe the heat’s getting to me. I totally dig this.

  1. …when you’re almost about to give up on mainstream country – they turn the corner. this is a cool little song. together with groovy james otto and jaron doing some praying that leaves uncle kracker smiling at the little white church of the little big town, where kimberly perry not only likes coca-cola yeeaah and where urban is in too, while even patty comes round on her drive, being somewhat tired of loveless receptions by radio.

yep, things seem to lighten up quite a bit going into the hot season.
