Single Review: Dustin Lynch, "Cowboys and Angels"

If this was released twenty years ago, it wouldn’t catch much attention amidst the wave of hat acts attempting to break through.

Released in today’s climate, Dustin Lynch’s “Cowboys and Angels” sounds almost revolutionary in its retro feel.   It certainly doesn’t sound like anything else on country radio today.  Between Lynch’s baritone vocals and the High Noon production, it’s a somewhat theatrical record, like something you’d expect to hear at the O.K. Corral a century and a half ago.

There’s nothing terribly interesting about the story line itself, buy cipro but Lynch is a good enough storyteller to keep you interested.  Give him stronger material, and he could be one to watch.

  1. I really like the way the record sounds, but the lyrics tend to leave me cold. I agree that Dustin Lynch could have a lot of potential if he finds the right material, though I admit my hopes kind of sank when I saw the song titles for his upcoming album. (“She Cranks My Tractor” anyone?)

  2. I’m with Ben. I was hopeful till I saw about half the song titles on his album. But I do like this song!

  3. This guy is somewhat like Scotty McCreery, full of potential, but the songs on the record aren’t that good. This one in particular is pretty damn solid. I’d say it’s one of the best songs that has hitted country radio recently
