  1. I celebrate nearly all of Alan’s catalogue, minus a couple of dumb songs like “www.memory.” “Monday Morning Church” is one of the best mainstream country songs released in the last 10 years. Can’t wait to hear this one!

  2. As a New Yorker, I will always respect Alan Jackson for making the perfect statement after 9/11 with “Where Were You (When The World Stopped Turning).” With that said, his catalog is amongst the strongest of his generation, if not the genre’s history. Another personal favorite (in addition to the aforementioned gem) is “Remember When” which is simply a beautiful song that continues to strike different chords with me as time passes.

  3. I’m listening to the album now on Spotify. As expected, it is absolutely fantastic. I was so excited when I heard he was going to release a bluegrass album. It’s the best of both worlds.

  4. I’d say my favorites from Alan are mainly the stuff he did around the middle of his career. Songs like “Pop A Top”, “There Goes” and “Right on the Money”.

  5. First song that really got me into Alan was “Gone Country” when my mom bought his Greatest Hits. Favorite though is probably “Don’t Rock the Jukebox” (just love that hook). Favorite album though is probably his “Like Red On a Rose.” Just so well done and unique from his normal stuff.

  6. I’m looking forward to hearing this album for no other reason than his voice was made to sing Bluegrass. I love most of his stuff, but he cemented that love with “Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning.”

  7. My favorite song by Alan is “So You Don’t Have To Love Me Anymore” and my Favorite Album would have to be “Drive” because my mom used to play it all the time when I was little.

  8. I love bluegrass and my favorite CD is Dolly’s “The Grass is Blue” it really got me started on listening to more bluegrass and now it has become a favorite of mine.

  9. Thanks for the great opportunity! Today my favorite AJ song, among many favorites, is his cover of Hank Williams Jr.’s “The Blues Man”.

  10. As a non-Southerner, I always knew I loved bluegrass but never really got the spiritual and cultural significance until 2002 I was at a small bluegrass festival in Jackson, Lousiana. A local group sang “Where Were You When the World Stopped Turning”, and that song really did capture the essence of the people who were there.

There were such talented musicians from LA and MS from several generations…it struck me how ingrained traditional bluegrass is in those small town and rural communities.

  11. My favorite AJ songs are the underrated gems:

“Dallas,” “Someday,” “Wanted,” “Love’s Gotta Hold On You,” “(Who Says) You Can’t Have It All,” “Tonight I Climbed The Wall.” So, so good.

I’m also a huge fan of “The Angles Cried,” his duet with Alison Krauss

  12. Alan was my first concert and he will always be one of the artists I use to judge other singers by, he’s easily one of the greatest artists to ever grace the genre of Country Music and I look forward to all the music he still has to share.

Favorite blue grass album: Rhonda Vincent ‘All American Bluegrass Girl”

Favorite Alan Album: ‘A Lot About Livin’ (And A Little ‘Bout Love)’

Favorite Alan song: ‘Tonight I Climb The Wall”

  13. Favorite Bluegrass Groups: The Osborne Brothers, Jim & Jesse, FLatt & Scruggs

Favorite Bluegrass Male solo artists: Mac Wiseman, Jimmy Martin, Jimmie Skinner

Favorite Bluegrass Female solo artists: RHonda Vincent, Rose Maddox, Dale Ann Bradley

Favorite Bluegrass Album: FLATT & SCRUGGS LIVE AT VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY

Favorite Bluegrass Songs: “Sunny Side of The Mountain”, “I’m Using My Bible For A Roadmap”

  14. So much good bluegrass out there: Steeldrivers, Steep Canyon Rangers, Chatham County Line, Infamous Stringdusters, Dailey & Vincent (superb live show), IIIrd Tyme Out, etc. I loved Dierks Bentley’s bluegrass album. And there’s no music festival quite like a bluegrass festival. I’m not sure there’s any way an Alan Jackson bluegrass album could be anything but excellent.

  15. I love it when artists have the ability to pursue a project of deep interest and personal importance to themselves instead of the Label. Patty Loveless’s Mountain Soul sparked my interest in Bluegrass music. I know Alans work will only enrich it!

  16. Dolly’s Grass is Blue is super, Everything Alan does is super (ok, never really got in to his Red on a Rose CD, but everything else is great! – I especially love his duet with Lee Ann Womack, Till the End.)

  17. Im a little choosey about the bluegrass that i buy but this is a must have. Alan Jackson just doesn’t put out much that is not good.

  18. I love Alan Jackson and the fact that he continues to make great country music. He seems to keep putting out great songs, and my favorite song of his would have to be “Drive”.

  19. My favourite one by Alan lately has been a Long Long Way from Good Time album. Worth listening over and over again. Hope to find a similarly great stuff on the new album.

  20. Favorite song by Alan Jackson?

Impossible to pick. But Small Town Southern Man probably wins in a extreme splitting of hairs.

Its just a shame that the country music radio has turned its back on Alan.

  21. One of the very first songs I remeber loving as a kid, toe-tapping to was “Little Bitty”
It was so fun and as a kid was easy to sing along to.
Growing up on country music, Alan Jackson was certainly a staple and still today is amazing.
Going back through his catalog from now back, every song he’s released to radio is a golden smash and it’s ashamed that he doesn’t get the radio play he used to.
