EW names “Fifty Greatest Love Songs, #50-#26

#30: Shania Twain, “You’re Still the One”

Sappy, perhaps, but also irresistible, as proven by wedding DJs worldwide. As the perfectly processed Nashville-pop chorus points out, Shania’s still the one that brides love, the only one they dream of.

That’s the only country song so far.  Any guesses of one that might end up in the Top 25?

  1. I noticed that as well in the news roundup today, and as they point out, it’s not even that representative of country music. Based on the way they’re going right now I can’t think of any that would make it, but it would be interesting to come up with a list of purely country songs.

  2. I’m thinkin’ maybe “You Were Always on My Mind” and almost certainly “I Will Always Love You,” but maybe not in their country incarnations. Break-up-y love songs still count, right?
