A true renaissance man Jimmy Dean was–a sausage empire like none before or since; one of the great story songs of all times (“Big Bad John”); a great Mothers Day hit from 1976 (“I.O.U.”); and the list goes on and on. Even more, I don’t think I can recall anyone ever saying anything bad about him, which is a rarity in the entertainment business even in the best of times.

    He’ll be missed, but he’ll be well remembered.
