Leeann – you boring? I don’t think so. CU readers should check out your Favorite Songs by Favorite Artists: Vince Gill from Feb 11, 2008.
I didn’t discover VG til around ’92 or ’93 but my wife and I did to see him at Westbury in the late 90’s. Maybe he should return to hosting the CMA’s.
Since I unfortunately don’t think I know enough albums to make a list I’ll skip that one other than saying anything with Paul Franklin pedal steel should be Number 1: Bakersfield.

I’ll just go with a song list. I could put any number of songs at the #5 spot since Vince has so many great songs.
1. Go Rest High On That Mountain
2. Pocket Full Of Gold
3. When I Call Your Name
4. I Still Believe In You
5. Whenever You Come Around
Putting together a list of my favorite VG albums is tough because in with the exception of the fabulous High Lonesome Sound I don’t think his albums hang together particularly well….always way too much throwaway filler on them.
Here are my song picks:
1) High Lonesome Sound
2) Go Rest High On That Mountain
3) Worlds Apart
4) Tryin’ To Get Overy You
5) Feels Like Love
Harmony:
1) The River…with Chely Wright
2) Go Rest High…with Patty Loveless
3) Red…with Taylor Swift & Alison Krauss – Live at CMAs
4) The Heart Won’t Lie…with Reba (technically a duet)
5) What You Don’t Say (with LeAnn Rimes – also a duet)
Hmmm…I couldn’t disagree with you more regarding Vince Gill albums.
I think I Still Believe In You and possibly – possibly – When Love Finds You are listenable as albums but honestly I find his LPs a bit too much to stomach. And his 4-disc project These Days….ugh! I don’t know what it is – he’s a fabulous guitar player and a distinctive singer but I just don’t think he makes good albums…
Out of interest did you like “Guitar Slinger”?
I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree, especially since When Love Finds You is one of my least favorite Gill albums (though I like it) and These Days is my very favorite album(s). Yes, I like Guitar Slinger quite a bit.
