Loretta Lynn’s first Christmas album in 50 years shows that she has not strayed much from her honky tonk roots!

White Christmas Blue finds Lynn still in strong voice and full of Christmas spirit, along with some of her signature spirited sass. The whole album is wonderful, but among the best songs are her original Christmas compositions. Highlights include the new title track, written with Shawn Camp, and the rerecording of “To Heck with Ole Santa Claus”, which all but rivals the spunk of her best known empowerment anthems with lyrics like, “When he goes dashing through the snow, I hope he falls. Well, I’d like to hit him in his ho ho ho with a bunch of big snowballs.”

Recommended Tracks: “White Christmas Blue”, “Country Christmas”, “To Heck with Ole Santa Claus”

Versions of these capsule Christmas album reviews will also appear in the Christmas edition of Country Style Magazine.
