Amy Grant
Tennessee Christmas

While Amy Grant is not a country artist, ” Tennessee Christmas”, co-written with Gary Chapman, has become a modern country Christmas classic.

Once a popular contemporary Christian artist, her music has mostly fallen into the realm of Americana music since her marriage to Vince Gill This is where Tennessee Christmas, one of the best of her various Christmas albums, fits as well.

Tennessee Christmas weaves strong originals with classics, along with songs that celebrate Christmas and songs that acknowledge the sadness that also accompanies the season.

Recommended Tracks: ” Tennessee Christmas,” “Christmas For You and Me,” “Melancholy Christmas”

Versions of these capsule Christmas album reviews will also appear in the Christmas edition of Country Style Magazine.

  1. I have purchased 7 new Christmas albums this year – and this is by far my favorite. It’s very acoustic, warm, and…comforting. My second favorite is Loretta’s. I wasn’t crazy about Amy’s last x-mas album because it seemed a bit “loud”. This one is very subdued, but heartfelt. My 5 year old even loves it and asks me to put it on.
