Keith Urban, “You Look Good In My Shirt”

In an unconventional move, Keith Urban has chosen to release a song from his second album, Golden Road, rather than a new song from an upcoming album. While people could easily go back and listen to the original version that already exists on that CD, Urban is, apparently, giving us the chance to hear this fan favorite on the radio as well. Nevertheless, “You Look Good In My Shirt” is a catchy, up-tempo song that possesses just the right energy and Urban charisma to cause people to crank up their stereos.

A couple reconnects by spending the night together after a break up for an unknown reason. While he admits that he cannot guarantee that their differences won’t resurface at some point, he does not regret that she has spent the night: “Well now I’m not saying that we solved overnight/Every way that we went wrong/Oh, but what I’m seeing I’d sure love seeing/Every morning from now on/And maybe it’s a little too early/To know if this is gonna work/All I know is you’re sure looking good in my shirt.”

Okay, it’s a silly song, but one that I’m happy to add to my playlist.

  1. I love it and man it gets the adrenaline going fast!! I heard it on the radio yesterday and I think my 10 min drive turned into a 5 minute drive! I was rocking out! Keith is so happy now and it really shows and I’m very happy for him! Very, very talented man. Fabulous artist!

  2. I have a feeling this version doesn’t quite capture what makes it so special live, but regardless I can see it as being a fun song on the radio for quite awhile. It has a older vibe to it, which I like. Good choice for him.

  3. I’ve always liked this KU song. It’s a good ‘un. I would venture to say that a ‘new version’ is tacked on to his next CD. I am a little suprised, though, that “Romeo’s Tune” wasn’t officially released as a single.

  4. When I heard he was going to release a song from Golden Road, I was hoping for “You’re not my God,” but this ones fun. Defenitely a turn up the radio type of song

  5. I LOVE YLGIMS! It’s one of best songs Keith does in concert and even after all these years it’s a crowd favorite. Upbeat and fun song from one of the best country artists we have.

  6. This is such a fun song live and Keith has come as close as possible to capturing that live vibe! It makes you want to roll down the windows and crank it up! I’m not sure how this song is any “sillier” than some previous #1’s by other artists. But it really doesn’t matter – what matters is if it’s a song that people want to hear on their radios ,and I think there’s no doubt that this one IS!

  7. YLGIMS is a fantastic song! I love this new version. I think it will do great on the radio. You did a great job Keith!

  8. I am so glad this song is finally being released, and the new version is AWESOME. Makes you want to get up and dance. Great move Keith.

  9. I love this song! Very BOLD move, and the re-recording has a little bit of that “live” appeal that the song posesses. To really appreciate it….. you gotta see it LIVE!!! Way to go KEITH!

  10. are the guys always forgetting something or are the girls keeping those clothing items on purpose, when it’s break-up time?

  11. This song is great. It’s an exciting, upbeat summer song with some great guitar work and great energy. But sometimes, even when everything goes right with a song, I still don’t like it, and this is one of those cases. I don’t know why, but this song just doesn’t do anything for me. However, I WANT to like it, and that’s what separates this song from so many other songs that I don’t like. Keith Urban actually tries to make me like this song, so even though I’m not crazy about it, I still feel like he did a great job.
