Album Review: Kacey Musgraves, A Very Kacey Christmas

Kacey Musgraves
A Very Kacey Christmas

This album is aptly titled. It is very much Kacey Musgraves.

Even with a fair amount of classics, just because Musgraves sings them, the album sounds fresh and different. As to be expected, she puts her stamp on these standards and originals, which includes duets with Willie Nelson and Leon Bridges. What’s more, the cowboy western/island-flavored album reflects both the melancholy and fun of Christmas.

Recommended Tracks: “A Willie Nice Christmas, “, “Present Without A Bow”, “Ribbons and Bows”

Versions of these capsule Christmas album reviews will also appear in the Christmas edition of Country Style Magazine.

  1. I’m not a big fan of tongue-in-check or overly clever and/or “cool” Christmas albums. I prefer straight-up sincere and heartfelt. That said, this is Kacey Musgraves, so I knew what I was getting. I can see playing this at a Christmas party and liking it in that atmosphere.
